Hey yall!! Did you think I had fallen off of the face of the earth? My BFF texted me the other day and asked me to please post on the blog because everyone was bugging her and asking her how we were doing and for pictures. Well, here I am!
You see the thing is, about 2 weeks ago I met this guy. I know, I know… I’m married and all, but this is a little different. At 5:19 am on Saturday, June 18th we welcomed our precious little man into the world. He weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 22 inches long.
My birth was a beautiful experience and I’m doing great so far. During birth I had a slight temp which was cause for concern for our little guy. He had a small temp as well so they were extra cautious in taking good care of him. So cautious, in fact, that we ended up staying in the NICU for a week.
It wasn’t a fun experience; however, we’d rather be safe than sorry. Turns out, the little guy never had fever again and what they thought might be an infection was nothing. Once they started him on antibiotics, they had to finish them so that he wouldn’t build up a resistance to them.
Anyways, that’s kind of why I’ve been silent for the past two weeks. JC and I slept in a twin hospital bed together for a week (enter a fake smile here) and I’m nursing on demand, so we didn’t rest much at all.
We are home now and sharing a queen size bed… much better!! We are absolutely in love with our little guy and couldn’t be happier. We’ve waited a long time for this time of our lives and it’s finally here. It’s everything I dreamed it would be and so much more. Here’s a sneak peak of our little guy…
Ok… I’ll quit there. I wouldn’t want anybody to die from baby cuteness overload. Lastly, to everyone that called, texted, and prayed during our stay at the hospital, thank you. I may not have responded but it meant the world to JC and I to know that so many people care for us.
I’ll be back to more regular posting soon (maybe this week). And if you are more interested in his “story”, just let me know in the comments below and I’ll put together a more detailed post!! Thanks for sticking with me!
