Bumpdate- 26 Weeks

As most of you should know by now, I’m expecting a baby!!!  YAY!!!  I’ve tried to keep you updated on my pregnancy as much as possible.  Being tired all of the time, having a full-time job, and having a to-do list that’s longer than my arm hasn’t allowed me to give you a proper update in a while so here she goes…

This picture was taken about a month ago.  J.C. and I rode out to the river to just sit and drink a Coke and eat a candy bar.  While we were there, I had him snap a few pictures of me.

I should have stood up a little straighter… ooppsss!  Anyways, you can see the little bump there.  And here’s how I’m looking these days:

26 weeks bump

How far along:  26 weeks or 6 months!!!  OMG how did I get to be 6 months pregnant?!  I’ll be in my third trimester in just one short week.  EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!!

Due date:  July 17th

Baby size:  1 pound at our 20 week appointment and about 8 inches long… he’s got to be bigger now… my baby book said around 2 pounds and probably 9 to 10 inches long

Total weight gain:  14 pounds- WOAH MOMMA!  That’s a lot of weight for this chick.  I’m so afraid that I’ll be one big stretch mark by the time it’s all over with.  I’ve been using Bio Oil and lotion like a mad woman.  Here’s to hoping that helps!!!

Symptoms:  I still have random sciatic pain, very tired for no reason (other than growing a small child), and very dry hair/skin.  I wear heels about 2 days a week now, which is down from 6 to 7 days a week.  On the days that I wear heels, I have swollen feet by the end of the day.  My doc said as long as the swelling goes down when I prop my feet up, it’s nothing to worry about (like preeclampsia).  Uhm, did I mention I’m tired?  Oh I did?!  Just checking!

Food cravings/aversions:  I’m still not wanting a ton of meat… except a juicy hamburger every once in a while.  And that’s kind of weird for me because pre-pregnancy, I really could have cared less about hamburgers.  I could seriously eat pizza for every meal, but we’ve already discussed that.  I’ve also tried to avoid any foods that might give me acid reflux- BBQ and orange juice.

Gender prediction:  Bouncing boy!  At least I hope he is still a boy  🙂

Looking forward to:  Putting little man’s room together, going on our babymoon at the end of this month (the beach), and going to a few baby/pregnancy related classes that my hospital offers for free!  We already attended one on Tuesday night called the ABCs of Baby Care.  It was really neat and we learned a lot.  I’m so glad we went.  I plan on going to a breastfeeding class (without J.C.) as well as a childbirth basics class (with J.C.).  I want the both of us to be knowledgeable and not completely in the dark.

This little guy must think he’s in prison because he is non-stop kicking.  I swear he’s training to be either an Olympic swimmer, a gymnast (like his daddy was), or maybe a black-belt?!  He can get to moving around in there and my WHOLE belly is moving.  It’s so cute and so sweet and never ever ever gets old!!!

Speaking of belly, I’m definitely showing, at least that’s how I feel. And I officially have a 1/2 innie, 1/2 outie belly button. It’s so weird and I’m sure it will be sticking out 10 foot by the time I’m 40 weeks. Oh well, I’ll just have to embrace it.

It’s so hard to believe that I only have 14 weeks left.  I know that they will fly by.  I’m sure that I’ll miss being pregnant but it will be worth it because I’ll be holding that beautiful baby boy in my arms!!!  I already love him so much and he isn’t even here… ♥

  1. Well no one will be surprised to hear that this was one of my all-time favorite posts! Just talk about one of my grandchildren and you’ve got my undivided attention- and no, it doesn’t matter that he hasn’t even been born yet! I’m the proud, obnoxious grand mom everybody avoids running into because they don’t want to see the 50 newest grandchild pictures!!! Thanks for the update, love you, Mom

  2. JC did a wonderful job taking that picture.. It’s stunning. And I think it’s so awesome how you are documenting all this. So many good memories to look back on one day. And so helpful to aspiring home remodelers.
