Bumpdate- 13 weeks

I figured since most of my readers (all 6 of them) know me on a somewhat personal basis, you might want to keep up with my pregnancy.  I’ll post these “bumpdates” every so often.  Bump + update= Bumpdate.  Get it?!  Yeah, so… I won’t do one of these every week because that would just be too much.  And if I see you are getting tired of these posts, I’ll scale back.  Yes mother, I’ll still update you on a daily basis 🙂

Before I show you the picture, I need to make a little confession.  I took this picture at 8 weeks… and this is a 13 week update.  I decided to use the picture because nothing has changed.  My pre-pregnancy body is still in tact.  I haven’t gained any weight, at least not yet.  And truth be told, it’s like 2 degrees here and I didn’t feel like putting on a noodle-strap shirt in this kind of weather.

How far along:  13 weeks or 3 months

Due date:  July 17th

Baby size:  A peach

Total weight gain:  Nope

Symptoms: TIRED… like really really tired… all the time.  Sick… like really sick… a lot.  Basically I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.  And no, I’m not complaining, but I sure wouldn’t mind if this little booger would quit acting up and let me feel good.  Truth be told, I feel pretty good about 50% of the time.  When I don’t have pregnancy brain and can remember to take my nausea meds, I feel decent.  When I forget to take them, it ain’t pretty.  Take my word.  You know how there are “tree huggers?”  I’ve become a toilet hugger.

Food cravings/aversions:  When I’m not actively sick or nauseas, I basically want everything in sight.  Meat hasn’t sounded or looked good most days but I have managed to eat a little here and there.  I’m not actually eating everything in sight, but probably could.  Some of the things I’ve really enjoyed… sushi (with NO raw ingredients), salad, pizza, Coke, Sprite, ice cream, fruit, and pickles.

And the things I’ve turned my nose up to… meat, eggs (some days), seafood, water.  I normally LOVE seafood, like it’s my favorite food, but I’ve gotten deathly ill two times.  Once off of friend shrimp and the other time was fish tacos.  I thought I might go out like Elvis… on the toilet…  And the water thing, I’m not sure what’s up with that.  It makes me want to gag.  I know it’s not good for me to not like water right now, so I’m just choking it down, but it isn’t easy.  And this is coming from the chick that normally likes water.  I even drank NOTHING BUT WATER the whole month of October.  Hopefully, these pesky aversions will go away in my second trimester.

Looking forward to:  “Showing” a little, getting to wear something from the maternity section, and finding out whether it’s a boy or girl.

Gender prediction:  I’ve been calling it a he.  I’m not sure why?!  We don’t have a preference either way.  🙂

Uhm, I guess that’s all I can think of for now.  We can’t wait until the baby gets here!  I’m a 1/3 of the way done and excited to be in the second trimester THIS week (it’s supposed to be the most pleasant).  And another thing I’m excited about is planning the nursery.  If I could have a dream job, it would more than likely be a nursery designer/planner.  I just love babies!  Who doesn’t???

  1. Thanks for recognizing that you need to update me DAILY… I suppose I think of you having a girl since you’ve battled nausea ; I also did when I was expecting you 🙂 I didn’t have it with your brothers!
But a girl will be great too! It’s good you’ve been craving all the healthy foods- coke, sprite, pizza, pickles… Lol
Give that baby some junk food will ya? Ha. Mostly, take good care of yourself. Love you, Mom 🙂
