A Room Made for Dirt

As soon as you walk in our back door, you are in our laundry/mudroom that has a built-in pantry at the other end, as well as a closet that has even more storage and houses our hot water heater that supplies this room as well as the kitchen.  Yeah, that was a mouthful.  This room really works hard.  Well, it will when we actually start living there again.  Laundry is dirty and so is mud, so this room was definitely made for dirt!

This is one of the first rooms I showed you guys.  If you haven’t been following me for very long or don’t remember, just click here and/or here.  I figured I would give you a few pics to jog your memory.

I about pulled my hair out because there were three doors, not including cabinet doors, in this room.  One of them had to come down.  And this chick did it!  Then we got a new backdoor and this room immediately became a lot brighter, even though there was still dark wood and paneling everywhere.  And we LOVE that new door.  Click here to see when we installed it and here are the details on the snazzy keypad.

Then the contractors started working and some major progress was made…

Then they installed a new closet door, which you can’t see because it’s open 🙂

As soon as the contractors were out of my way, sorry guys, I got to painting.  Of course, as I mentioned here, we went with Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams in here.  And man does it look good!

So, what do you think?  It’s a pretty big difference if you ask me.  I took these pictures while the paint was still wet AND it was raining outside, so they don’t look true to color but you can still get the idea.  We spent a good bit of money getting all of this work done, but we really love it already… and we aren’t even living there yet.  There are a few more updates that have been made in this room, by yours truly may I add, but I’m going to make you wait for those.  Talk at ya later 🙂
