Are You a Fan?

Of ceiling fans?  Yay or nay?  A fan or not a fan…?!  J.C. and I personally like to sleep under a ceiling fan in the summertime.  I mean, it just gets so hot in south Arkansas, so it almost seems like a must.  Right now, we don’t have a fan in our bedroom and we make comments all of the time about how much we miss having one.

I really want to hang a chandelier over our bed but I don’t think that’s going to fly (pun intended) with J.C.!  He really wants a fan AND if I get honest with myself, I want one too.  Maybe we can hang a pretty little chandelier in our sitting room?!

Then there’s the fact that I feel like most fans are butt ugly.  Sorry for the bad word… butt… I’m just trying to get my point across.  There are a lot of them I don’t like and only a handful that I do actually like.  And guess what?  The ones I like normally cost a million dollaz.  Yeah, that’s a problem.  I just can’t see spending a ton of money on a fan.  But on the other hand, people don’t change fans out like very day.  A fan is something that stays on the ceiling for years.  So, spending a little extra money on something you love the first time around just might be worth it in the long run.

Another thing I don’t like about 90% of fans are the lights that are attached to them.  Ok, get ready.  Another bad word is coming.  Boob lights.  I had a few of them in my previous home, so I’m not hating on them… oh wait,!  I don’t like them.  Do you know the lights I’m referring to?

See what I mean?  Yeah, let’s move forward shall we.  So, that means I don’t like fans that look like this:

Now, I’m not hating on you if you have these fans.  I had two in my last house.  I just don’t like them that much.  Everybody likes different things.  Right?  So, let me show you a few of the fans that I do like.

(As always, just click on the pictures in this post for more info, pricing, etc.)

I like the mix of the galvanized metal and the wood tone.  Isn’t she pretty?

This one is pretty cool too!  For some reason, something inside of me is saying no to this one, but I’m not sure why?!

double fan

You cannot deny that this fan double fan is SO awesome… but the price tag hurts my feelings so bad.

lowes fan

This fan is very simple and streamlined.  And the prices… is ON POINT!

And here are a few pictures of bedrooms with fans over the bed that really inspire me:

Don’t all of those fans look lovely?  That just goes to show that I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill.  I might have a tendency to do that.  It gives me time to think things out I guess 🙂

So, are you a fan of ceiling fans?  How about sleeping under a fan?  I’ve heard a lot of people say that it makes them sick or “stuffy.”  Have you seen any nice fans lately?  Leave me a comment below to let me know which side you stand on.

  1. I love the double fan. I have been looking at that for myself. Yes I love a fan over the bed, but it does bother my allergies.

  2. Ceiling fans are totally cool!!! Lol
They keep you cool and save on electricity vs. air conditioning 🙂
You can find a unique one for over your bed and two for your den. Good luck! Love ya, mom
