Sometimes I feel like we haven’t been able to get a lot done on our new-to-us house since we moved in back in early March. Between some logistical (is that even a word?!) and storage issues we are dealing with AND our busy schedules, we haven’t had the opportunities I was hoping for to get some things done. I was thinking we would be totally done by now… yeah right 🙂
Then I remind myself that we are so blessed to even have a home. Some people sleep in the streets or in a hut with a dirt floor. And I’m over here complaining about my house not being like we want it at the exact moment?! I need to get over myself. I know that in time, it will all come together. I can deal with concrete floors and no bathtub (we only have a shower right now) and wearing shoes at all times and everything else I’ve complained about for a little longer… I think?! If you see me with fire in my eyes and steam coming out of my ears, bring me back down to planet Earth and remind me that I have a roof over my head. Thanks in advance.
While I was having a pity party one day, I started to recall all of the things we have actually accomplished. It made me feel pretty good and also inspires me to get some more items checked off the list… the never ending list! I thought it would be helpful for me (and my sour attitude) to list all of the projects that we’ve finished:
Projects with an asterisk (*) indicate a DIY and ones with a dollar sign ($) indicate that we hired it out. Click on the link to view the project.
-Ripped up all of the carpet (*)
There may be a few other things I’m missing but that should cover the big items. See, we have accomplished some awesome things! That doesn’t necessarily relieve my itch to get things going; however, it does make me feel a little better.
So, do you ever get that feeling? The one where you feel like you aren’t ever getting anything done, but then you remind yourself to be thankful for the things you do have? When you feel that way, just make a little (or big) list of the things you have accomplished and reflect on that. It will make you feel better in no time flat!
