I’m going back and forth about whether or not I should hang two sconces on each side of our bathtub in our master bathroom or if I should hang a chandelier over it? I feel like the wall space on each side of the window needs something. Sconces are very pretty and romantic. Chandeliers are over the top and chic. Which way should I go?
Just in case you missed the post where I first mentioned the idea, click here. Here is how the master bathroom started out and here’s where it’s at now, along with our ideas/thoughts on what we envision for this space. As I mentioned before, I would REALLY love to find something used/antique that I could work with. I can just envision them. Antique sconces on each side of the bathtub. It will be so GLAM! Then I started thinking… what if I search and search… for years… and never find anything… OH NO!
That started my quest. A quest to find “back up” sconces if I never stumbled upon some at an antique store/junk store/flea market/etc. I also looked around at a few chandeliers. Secretly I’m worried about the chandelier. Well, I guess it isn’t a secret anymore. What if it is on while I’m in the bath and an earthquake happens and it falls in the bathtub with me and electrifies me to death? Or, let’s just say 5 to 10 years from now, we have a 5-year-old rambunctious boy that’s a little like his daddy. I leave him unattended for ONE SECOND and I come back in the bathroom to see him swinging from the chandelier like a monkey?! By the way, I can totally see that happening.
That’s why most of the options I’m considering for the “back up” plan are sconces. Ya got me? Anyways, I scoured the web and found some options that are definitley suitable. I might just crack and end up buying new ones if I can’t find some used ones I like.
P.S. I’m not going to give every.single.detail about every.single.light fixture; HOWEVER, if you will just click on the photo, it will take you directly to the website/product price and details.
This one is very pretty and unique. I think it would “pop” against our Peppercorn walls.
The beauty is a “champagne” color, which I think will go well with our brushed nickle hardware elsewhere. I think it’s feminine and sort of antiquish looking.
This flower is just too fun!
I LOVE this one. It’s very fancy and just screams, “Buy Me!”
This one is not much of a contender… but I like it… a little… so I thought I would throw it in there.
And lastly, I thought I might add in a chandelier/pendant light that I found that I thought would be very pretty hanging over the tub. It’s pretty, simple, and would not compete with any other features in the room. It’s also the most affordable option because we would only need to purchase one… but then there is the monkey swinging, electricfying thing…
So, which one is your favorite? Do you like any of them? Should we do two sconces on each side of the window or should we go with a chandelier/pendant light over the bathtub? Decisions, decisions. Leave me a comment below to let me know what you think we should do.
